You better enjoy Italy in spring (April-June) and September to October, marking the shoulder season. During these periods, the countryside is beautiful. In addition, the country then enjoy pleasant temperatures and moderate tourist activity (deals in accommodations, especially in the South). Avoid, if possible, August: roads and attractions are crowded. Moreover, the Italians go on holiday and massive number of shops and businesses close. Prices rise for Christmas, New Year and Easter. In the Alps and the Dolomites, the busy season from late December to March.
